PERIWINKLE THEATRE FOR YOUTH
The Birthday Party That Almost Wasn’t
The Birthday Party That Almost Wasn’t (Grades
K − 3)
45 minutes. Four characters, one stage manager. Musical theatre with audience participation.
CHARACTER EDUCATION MADE FUN
Freddy’s manners are so bad that he ruins his own birthday party. Through birthday
magic, Freddy’s toys come alive and take him to the Gates of Playland where
the price of admission is – good manners! Freddy becomes a hero when, with the
help of the audience, he succeeds in teaching his toys how to play nicely. Freddy,
the toys, and the audience discover that it’s fun to be polite, play fairly,
and to respect others.
