SPOKEN WORD REVUE CELEBRATING POETRY
Dramatizes the fun, excitement, and emotions of
classic children’s poetry. With a strong emphasis on movement and beautiful
speech, the actors bring to life the lyrical beauty of Japanese haiku, the persuasive
rhythms of hip hop poetry, the humor of beloved old chestnuts, and the latest
offerings of today’s top children’s poets. The play motivates kids to read,
write, and jump up to perform their own poetry. Literacy thrives when The Mad
Poet Strikes – Again!

“Answers the question ‘WHAT IS POETRY?’
beautifully with a variety of dramatized poems… for example, a marvelous rendition
of “Casey at the Bat” that transforms the listeners from audience members to
spectators in a stadium!”
New York Times

bunch of kids who’ll never be the same.”
