Rooftop (Grades
K − 5)
50 minutes. Four characters, one technician. Realistic comedy / drama with fantasy element. Music and dance sequences.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN A BULLY GETS THE BEST OF YOU?
Through the story of a boy and his sister who have to deal with a school bully,
Rooftop, engages young people in the questions every kid confronts when dealing
with a bully: How do I feel good about myself when a bully is getting the best
of me? How do I assert myself with a bully? Is revenge ever okay? Who do I turn
to when I need help? In the end, Rooftop helps children learn that violence
only breeds MORE violence and that communication is the key to solving problems.
